I went to a screening last night for Shame and was blown away.

Fassbender and Mulligan play the ultimate damaged siblings. Shocking, thrilling, uncomfortable viewing.

Reminded me a bit of Taxi Driver, Requiem for a Dream, and Irreversible (French). Steve McQueen is clearly a visionary.

The sex scenes were brutal (there was some audible gasps from those sitting near me), and Fassbender busts out some gnarly facial expressions.

Mulligan took her acting to a new level, she’s astonishing…and her performance of New York, New York is basically iconic.

The two of them together have incredible chemistry. Hope this film does very well.

If you’re now curious, watch the trailer

What do you think this movie is about? I’d love to discuss your interpretation.
