Goddess Meryl Street + dreamboat Jean Dujardin = Oscar heaven. Swoon.
Jean Dujardin as George Valentin in The Artist, which won seven Baftas including best film, best director and best actor. A stud is born.
Sorry, I can’t help myself …genekellysbutt is the funniest Tumblr I’ve seen in awhile. For years I thought I was the only one who noticed Gene Kelly’s dancing rump! Genius.

Michelle Williams was very insecure about her body when she was so pregnant, so Heath Ledger would often put padding under his shirt to appear pregnant as well in hopes of making his wife feel better. This photo was taken the first time Heath did this.
Beautiful photo and moment. Michelle Williams has had an incredible career and has demonstrated a wide range of characters from Jen in late 90s melodrama Dawson’s Creek to the betrayed wife in Brokeback Mountain to twentieth century icon Marilyn Monroe in My Week with Marilyn (hoping she wins an Oscar for this). Obviously her relationship with the late Heath Ledger had a profound effect on her being, perhaps making her take deeper risks with her acting.
This image reminds me of her performance in bittersweet romance Blue Valentine - which explores the ups and downs of contemporary relationships.
Excited to learn that she’s taking on the role of Glinda the Good in Wizard of Oz prequel Oz: The Great and Powerful. Exciting times for this up and coming actress.

*SWOON* Michael Fassbender deserves an Oscar for his performance as rabid sex addict in Steve McQueen’s Shame. I saw it last month and here were my initial thoughts. He looks like Jesus here. His eyes are so tragic.

”Our good fortune allowed us to feel a sadness our parents didn’t have time for.” - Beginners
Loved this movie. Great writing, acting and storytelling. Made me laugh and cry.
Christopher Plummer (Captain Von Trapp in the Sound of Music!) gives a stand-out performance as an elderly man diagnosed with terminal cancer - just after coming out. Watching him experience a condensed version of gay culture was amusing and familiar.
Ewan McGregor also gives a brilliant performance as his son Oliver, a graphic artist in East LA, struggling to come to terms with his own upbringing while mourning his father. Not an ideal time to fall in love…or is it?
Hope Beginners doesn’t get overlooked in award season.
There were a few movies I missed out on this summer while traveling. ‘Beginners’ was one of them, and I couldn’t wait to see what all my friends had been talking about. I loved it. Mike Mills is a talent in himself, plus Ewan McGregor, Christopher Plummer and Melanie Laurent are three actors I happen to think are pretty flawless. Have you seen it? Thoughts? What’s a movie you can watch over and over? Something that makes you happy? Sad? One you thought you’d hate, but didn’t? One you thought you’d love, but didn’t?

First Look: The Great Gatsby starring Leonardo DiCarpio, Carey Mulligan, and Tobey Maguire. Directed by Baz Luhrmann.
The Great Gatsby was my favorite book in high school, and Moulin Rouge was my favorite movie. Hope this transcends!
